If we have a model established in the computer, then why not see how it works on the computer as well?  We can do just that for establishing how the building is exposed to the sun.  The models below show how the sun will track over the structure.  In one case, we want to see how we can establish heat gain during the winter.  Once the summer comes, we want to eliminate the heat gain.  The second model shows how the sun will be blocked by eaves or fabric shades to block the solar heat gain.
